Alvion Davenport is an award-winning drag queen entertainer who has served as the entertainment director of Godfrey’s for more than twenty years. It has been her life’s work to, “Foster the entertainment and talents of upcoming Richmond folk who give so much of themselves on stages all over the commonwealth.” Through decades of dedication, Alvion has also led extensive philanthropic efforts across Richmond, Virginia, striving to “give back to this city what it has blessed my life with.”
On stage and off, Alvion carries a magnetic presence, even as a self-proclaimed introvert. Godfrey’s remains her favorite place in Richmond. If she ever stepped away from her many responsibilities, she would spend a quiet evening enjoying dinner at Lillie Pearl or Main Street Dragon. Her comfort show is Family Matters, and her current favorite song is “Man I Need” by Olivia Dean.
Alvion’s impact reaches far beyond the stage. She is a devoted advocate not only for Richmond’s LGBTQ community, but for communities throughout Virginia. As she puts it, “I LOVE YOU ALL… from the Blue Ridge Mountains to the Chesapeake Bay.”
